“KazSilicon” Metallurgical Combine” LLP is the first metallurgical silicon plant in Kazakhstan. Production was launched in 2006 in Ushtobe, Almaty Region.
The plant uses vein quartz of its own «Sarykulskoye» filed, located 25 km from the plant, as raw material. The SiO2 content of mined quartz is at least 99.5%.
The main metallurgical equipment was manufactured in China by German technology. An automated process control system has been developed and implemented.
An automated exhaust gas purification system with dust collection efficiency up to 99% allows not only to comply with environmental requirements, but also to produce additional products - microsilica, which is in high demand both domestically and abroad.
Quality control of incoming raw materials and manufactured products is carried out in our own laboratory on an S4 Pioneer spectrometer from Bruker (Germany) and an Optical Emission Spectrometer ICP-OES Optima 8300.
In 2011, 100% of the authorized share of “KazSilicon” MС” LLP was acquired by “Kazatomprom” NAC” JSC as part of the strategic investment project "Creating the production of photovoltaic modules based on Kazakhstani silicon KAZ PV".
Since 2015, metallurgical silicon production is temporarily discontinued.
In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 30, 2015 No. 1141 “On Certain Issues of Privatization for 2016–2020”, “KazSilicon” MC” LLP is to be implemented as a part of the privatization program of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
